Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire – Zone Industrielle de Côte d’Ivoire (ZIC) is thrilled to announce a significant transformation as it rebrands to Plateforme Économique Industrielle d’Abidjan (PEIA). This change represents a new phase in our commitment to driving economic development and industrial growth in Côte d’Ivoire, setting the stage for a future marked by sustainable growth, innovation, and job creation.

ZIC evolves into PEIA: A new era for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic and industrial landscape

Plateforme Économique Industrielle d’Abidjan (PEIA) is a public-private partnership between the government of Côte d’Ivoire and ARISE Integrated Industrial Platforms (ARISE IIP), a leading pan-African developer and operator of world-class industrial parks and ecosystems. Spanning over 430 hectares, PEIA is designed to become an economic and industrial epicentre, an integrated platform that connects diverse economic sectors with a mission to attract global investments and create thousands of jobs for the country. This platform will serve as a catalyst for innovation, encouraging collaboration amongst world-class industrial players and investors.

PEIA’s transformation will:

    • Foster sustainable growth by connecting diverse economic sectors.
    • Encourage innovation by facilitating collaboration among industrial leaders and investors
    • Drive industrialisation, accelerating Côte d’Ivoire’s transition to a value-driven economy focused on local production.

Currently boasting a GDP growth rate of around 6.2% in 2023, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Côte d’Ivoire is the economic powerhouse of West Africa, accounting for almost 40% of regional GDP. With a population of around 29 million and a rapidly growing middle class, the country is strategically positioned to transition from an export-driven economy to one powered by locally processed goods and sustainable industrial practices. PEIA will play a key role in this evolution, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and streamlined services that will reduce business setup times and stimulate private-sector-led growth.

Yvan Dorier, Country Head for ARISE IIP in Côte d’Ivoire, said: “This transformation marks an exciting new chapter for PEIA and Côte d’Ivoire. We are proud of our legacy as ZIC, and this rebranding reflects our renewed vision for creating a thriving industrial platform that supports Côte d’Ivoire’s goals of becoming a leading industrial economy in Africa.
